Leviticus 21:1–24:23.Ezekiel44:15-31

                                                       Emor “-Say/Speak”
                                             Vayikra (ויקר א) 21:1–24:23. (Yechezqel חֶזְקֵאל  44:15-31
This  Parasha includes G-Ds instructions for the Kohen’s concerning marriage, sexuality, and mourning. Who can eat the priestly gifts and how a Kohen is to deal with a blemish in his skin is discussed .What is and is not  acceptable when   an animal offering  is placed on the alter“. Hashem then moves into The Appointed Times . G-D gives the basic frame work for each of the festivals the when’s, where’s, what’s and why’s. The Torah portion ends with G-D’s instructions of the Table of Showbread and the Ner Talmid and how to deal with blasphemy and those who carry the sin out.
This portion is packed with weighty instructions .The Aliya’s I enjoy studying the most are the 4th,5th and 6th Aliyah’s because they are times G-D  Invites us to  come closer to him. Date nights in essence   with the King of the Universe. Some dates extremely somber like Yom Kippur. The most joyful Sukkot which is instructed in the 23 chapter of Vayikra.
39 “‘But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered the produce of the land, you are to observe the festival of Adonai seven days; the first day is to be a complete rest and the eighth day is to be a complete rest. 40 On the first day you are to take choice fruit, palm fronds, thick branches and river-willows, and celebrate in the presence of Adonai your God for seven days. 41 You are to observe it as a feast to Adonai seven days in the year; it is a permanent regulation, generation after generation; keep it in the seventh month. 42 You are to live in sukkot for seven days; every citizen of Isra’el is to live in a sukkah, 43 so that generation after generation of you will know that I made the people of Isra’el live in sukkot when I brought them out of the land of Egypt; I am Adonai your God.’”
44 Thus Moshe announced to the people of Isra’el the designated times of Adonai.
Sukkot lasts a total of eight days .It is bookended by two days of complete rest. Instruction for building the temporary dwelling is given .The building and decorating of the dwelling are one of the extremely enjoyable activities of the holiday. It commemorates our living in temporary dwellings in the wilderness after G-D brought us out of Egypt. He choose to camp with us in the Mishkan also known as the Tent of Meeting. We are to remember this time period and all G-D did for Israel throughout the time we spent in the wilderness.

The Haf Torah (Yechezqel חֶזְקֵאל  44:15-31 is a portion of the discussion of the Messianic Temple. Sukot is understood to  have a conection to  the Messiah..One of the names of Sukkot is the Festival of the Nations.
When Messiah returns and establishes His Kingdom, all the nations will be required to keep this holiday by coming up to Jerusalem to celebrate Sukkot.  (Zechariah 14:16–17)
16 Finally, everyone remaining from all the nations that came to attack Yerushalayim will go up every year to worship the king, Adonai-Tzva’ot, and to keep the festival of Sukkot. 17 If any of the families of the earth does not go up to Yerushalayim to worship the king, Adonai-Tzva’ot, no rain will fall on them. 18 If the family of Egypt doesn’t go up, if they refuse to come, they will have no [annual] overflow [from the Nile]; moreover, there will be the plague with which

Adonai will strike the nations that don’t go up to keep the festival of Sukkot. 19 This will be Egypt’s punishment and the punishment of all the nations that don’t go up to keep the festival of Sukkot
It is also called the Season of our Joy. Be joyful at your Feast—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levites, the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns.…  For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.”  (Deuteronomy 16:13–15) The physical harvest  is only one portion of the Joy  In the Messianic age G-D will dwell with humanity, tabernacle  with us again  .The Brit Ha Da Sha  states “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell [tabernacle] with them.  They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God.”  (Revelation 21:3)

Shalom ,
